In some cases repairs to Matrix if the damage is not extensive can be achieved by re-coring some of, or most of the existing tubes. However this can in some cases affect the duty and efficiency of the matrix. Re-coring is usually undertaken in an emergency where removal to carry out a full repair is not a viable alternative.
It is normally suggested that the unit be removed to assess and address the resultant damage or replacement with a new unit.
All of the alternatives and works are fully explained to the client prior to commencement of the works to ensure that the full extent and implications are fully understood.
